Tourism in Antalya celebrates 12 thousand Russian tourists in one day

Finally, tourism in Antalya is recovering again, as this beautiful state in southern Turkey is getting ready to receive more than 12.000 Russian tourists upon Moscow lifting the imposed travel restrictions as part of measures to fight the Corona epidemic.

The first convoy of Russian tourists arrived in Antalya, Turkey

At dawn on Tuesday, the first flight carrying Russian tourists arrived, as the Turkish Airlines plane landed at Antalya Airport with 132 tourists on board.

Tourism in Antalya, which is described as the capital of Turkish tourism, will witness in one day the influx of more than 12,000 Russian tourists, who have come to spend a long-awaited vacation in Turkey, amid many natural and historical attractions.

Flight Resumption from Moscow to Turkey

This step comes after Russia announced the resumption of all flights to Turkey again as of June 22.

It is worth noting that Russia had decided to restrict flights to Turkey from last April 15 to June 1, then extended the resolution until the 21st of the same month.

Turkey suspends corona test for people coming from Russia

In a related context, the Turkish authorities announced canceling the requirement to submit a negative test result (PCR) for travelers coming from Russia.

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Turkey (SHGM) tweeted that those arriving from Russia must submit a document, issued by the official authorities, stating that they received the Corona vaccine at least 14 days before their entry to Turkey, or they were infected with the Coronavirus within the past six months.

It added that travelers are neither required to have a negative test result (PCR) nor will be quarantined if they meet the above conditions.

Tourism in Antalya is a favorite destination for Russians

It is noteworthy that the largest number of Russian tourists in Antalya was recorded in 2019, as the number of tourists from Russia, who spent their vacations on Turkish soil, reached approximately 6 million.

While the number of Russian tourists, who visited Antalya in 2020, is about 1.5 million tourists, despite the sector's decline due to the Corona pandemic.

Tourist facilities in Antalya for safe tourism

Tourism in Antalya is one of the most preferred destinations for Russian tourists, thanks to the tourist facilities approved by the Turkish authorities and equipped with the "Safe Tourism Certificate" launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Health.

It is based on providing the necessary procedures at the airport level, reception, accommodation, and all facilities included in the visit programs.

Under the program, the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Tourism, and specialized international institutions, will issue certificates confirming the commitment of hotels, restaurants, and resorts to safety standards for preventing the spread of Coronavirus.
